
Last week, five of us from PlanHub flew in from all across the U.S.—California, Arizona, Utah, and Wisconsin—to meet up in San Diego for one of the most exciting and impactful conferences we’ve ever attended: the 2025 Advancing Preconstruction Conference.
For some of us, it was our first time meeting face-to-face. But by the end of the week, it felt less like a work trip and more like a reunion of kindred spirits—bound by our shared passion for helping contractors grow their businesses with modern tools that actually make life easier.
PlanHub Made Noise—Literally and Figuratively
From the moment the doors opened, we had crowds of curious, energized contractors flocking to our booth—drawn in by two words: Hammerschlagen and Grip Strength.


And the grip strength tester? Let’s just say things got intense. Contractors were lining up to prove they had the strongest grip in the room, cheering each other on, and coming back with coworkers for rematches. Even the Hanson Wade event team made multiple stops to jump in on the action!
Unique Giveaways That Stole the Show
We didn’t just bring the games—we brought the goods. Attendees who joined in on Hammerschlagen or tested their grip strength were entered to win one of two epic giveaway prizes. First up: a Yeti cooler fully loaded with a giant bottle of Woodford Reserve, whiskey glasses, ice molds, and more. It turned heads all day—people would stop mid-walk just to ask,
“How do I win that?”

Moments like that? Unmatched.
But It Wasn’t Just Fun and Games
Beneath the fun was some of the most valuable face-to-face interaction we’ve ever had with our community. Throughout the event, we connected with over 150 contractors, estimators, and construction professionals. At times, all five of us were in simultaneous conversations with different groups—demoing our platform, fielding questions, and digging into real-world challenges.
We heard contractors voice their frustrations with current preconstruction platforms. We got honest, unfiltered feedback about what’s working, what’s not, and what they wish existed. It was invaluable insight we’re excited to bring back to our product and customer teams.


Many conversations circled around the economic volatility contractors are facing — fluctuating material costs, unpredictable timelines, and growing pressure to do more with less. It reinforced why we do what we do: simplify preconstruction, streamline bidding, and help contractors win more work in less time, regardless of the state of the industry.
A Clear Takeaway: This Industry Is Ready for a Shift
They’re looking for platforms that actually make life easier, not more complicated.
